The thing about roofs is, people don’t realize they need as much attention as any other sturdy part of a home. Regardless of how strong or good your roofing is, it will need to be replaced at one point or another.
And while that’s fine, most people wait until it’s too late. Don’t wait until rainwater starts pouring through the ceiling and you’reforced to run around the house with buckets!
Check your roof, and if you see any of the signs below, it just means your roof needs to be replaced.
- Start from the Inside
If you have one, your attic is the first place to check if you think you might need a new roof. Do you see any beams of light boring through the top of the house? Or perhaps signs of a leaky roof like streaks and stains? If yes, a new roof is in order.
- Rot is Your Enemy
When your roof starts to droop and sag, the best option is to replace it before the problem is further compounded and your home suffers even worse damage. Check the surface and if you see rotting boards, perhaps signs of trapped moisture, start making plans to replace your roof.
- Tenacious Plants
Plants beautify homes, but there are some exceptions to this; moss does not look good on your roof. The same goes for mold and fungi. Seeing these unwanted plants means there could be trapped moisture, which is very good at ruining a roof.
The quickest way to get rid of moss in shaded corners of your roof is to use a stiff brush on it.
While all these look simple enough to do, it would be best to hire professionals to handle it for you. In other words, hire us!
